Capacity building
By way of Article 8 of the International Treaty, contracting parties have agreed to promote the provision of technical assistance to other contracting parties especially those of developing countries. Within the scope of Diverseeds such assistance can be provided, e.g. in terms of in situ conservation in genetic reserves and on-farm (see figure 5.1), partners within Diverseeds have been active; indeed there is now very substantial practical experience that can be conveyed by way of this project.. Diverseeds gives also special emphasis to Article 13.2. (c, iii) carrying out its scientific research in developing countries and countries with economies in transition, in cooperation with institutions of such countries, and developing capacity for such research in fields where they are needed.Previous page: International cooperation
